A Guide to Mobile Advertising in Australia
Talking to people in recent months I have come to realise the huge need for education around Mobile Advertising locally. I personally believe advertisers & agencies are ready to leap into the mobile channel, but simply can’t get enough information about how it all works.
Most of the Australian carriers offer mobile advertising opportunities, along with the big mobile publishers like Sensis, Fairfax, NineMSN & News. Global mobile ad networks Google & AdMob offer targeting of Australian mobile users as well.
Perhaps I am over-valuing the current opportunity, but with many millions of mobile impressions by Australian users every month, I believe we have a massive untapped market.
My latest article for Digital Ministry A Guide to Mobile Advertising in Australia attempts to remove some of the mystery around mobile advertising and shed some (bright, fluorescent, glaring) light on what’s possible, how much it costs and who to talk to to make it happen.
Although the article is lengthy, I know there’s plenty I haven’t covered. I would welcome comments & suggestions so that I can expand on other opportunities in future articles.
